Equipment Inventory
Since opening our doors
(so to speak) in February 2004 as a 501 tax deductible
corporation, there has been a lot of equipment and
pledges of equipment made to WVG. The following is a
partial list as a number of pledged items are still in
the hands of those who have pledged them and, in some
cases, we don't even know what they look like or what
they will do for us. One example, is the bin hopper,
which will lift fruit bins on to a conveyor belt

- Two - 6 ton commercial
dryers were donated to us by the Okanagan Gleaners in
Oliver, B.C. These dryers previously had the capacity
of 100 2 x 3 foot stainless steel trays, loaded on 2
50 tray stainless steel rolling racks. With several
work days behind us, we wer able to re-set the door to
accommodate 3 rack, increasing the capacity to 150
tays!

- Re-fit
the wheel casters on all of the 6 stainless steel drying racks
(on the right in the picture) This
enable us to fit 3 - 50 tray racks into the dryer and
accommodate up to 3,200 pounds at one 8 hour drying
session.

- The ‘59 Chevy Fleetside pickup
truck received last year by an anonymous donor was
restorted by Paul Bibbee, a Cascade high school senior for his senior project. “Restoration’included
a new bed (donated by Tim & Engrid Webber of Cashmere), body and paint with Gleaners logo on the
doors, and minor mechanical work. Les Schwab has donated
chrome rims and truck tires which will dramatically
dress up the appearance. Currently, The Skill
Center in Wenatchee is donating all of the mechanical
work to get the truck working great.

- Okanagan Gleaners in
Oliver, B.C. also donated on loan to us a commercial
fruit dicer. This machine, when automated, can dice a
bushel of apples in about 10 seconds and will enable
us to dry more fruit faster.
